Have you successfully dealt with plantar fasciitis?
#22
I had plantar fasciitis very bad. I could barely walk even after trying many of the normal solutions. Some things helped in the short term such as expensive shoes, rocker style shoes, stretching, cortisone shots, night splits, taping, and the golf ball roll but none of them solved my problem. I even tried "dry needling" where they purposely poke the tendon with a needle a bunch of times, put your foot in a boot for six weeks, and hope for the best. No joy. I had an ultrasound of my foot and the doctor measured the tendon as 3x as thick as it should have been, meaning it was severely inflamed.

Since everything else had failed I was ready for anything. I hired a private yoga teacher. For awhile I couldn't even take my shoes off and when I did it was severely painful. Eventually I became much more comfortable though. I credit the warrior I and warrior II poses as being tremendously helpful. I still wanted to improve even more so I did relent in getting custom orthotics. I had my feet cast in plaster and received my orthotics several weeks later. Total cost was around $600 but I am basically cured at this point. I can even walk without shoes now or wear sandals and I am 30 pounds heavier than I was when it started.

As you can see from this thread everyone has found their own solution. This is a long winded version of my solution.
