Yes, I have an earlier pair, and I heartily recommend them, under certain circumstances, as described in a previous response.
Note that at current exchange rates, these speakers would then cost ~$17 for the pair in 1979, and my old AR Towers bought in 1979 would now cost over three kilobucks.
$50 for these JBL speakers now, never originally meant for the US Market, and only now remaindered here at Frys, is not a Deal; it's an absolute Steal.
