I used 4x4's for posts and 2x4's around the outsides of the 4x4's at the top and then inside the 4x4's a foot from the floor, then a 3/4 BC plywood top and for a shelf. I beefed up the right front corner with some 2x4 pieces to be able to mount a vise. The whole thing is 5x3 feet. Pretty cheap and strong as can be. And it doesn't matter if I beat it up.
