Ah, the component cost. Sure. However I still contend the iPad is viewed as a different class of device and tablets have trended lower in price than phones. Given the performance, given the battery life, given the screen size. If you compare phone prices, the bigger phones tend to cost more than smaller phones with otherwise similar specs.
