My mom's Touchpad came back to life after sitting on the Touchstone for about a week.
Based on similar reports, I've had it on charge continually thinking that this might bring it back to life. It will occasionally show the "discharged battery" icon momentarily on the screen when I hold both buttons, but usually there's no sign of life, except for the little light that indicates that I have it plugged in to the charger.
From what I've read, the problem is that the connection of the battery to the rest of the device's electronics has somehow been interrupted. The fixes that I've seen require attaching the Touchpad to a PC, which apparently allows someone to "awaken" the connection by running some sort of code?. When I did a google search, I've seen quite a few references to how the fix works, but I'm not PC-knowledgeable and I don't have a PC, so I can't fix it myself.
It would be so wonderful to have the use of my Touchpad again! It's a perfect solution for my needs.
cbelt3, I have seen and tried the fixes that were mentioned on the linked page: "If this does not work then you can hard reset your Touchpad by holding the button at the top of the screen and the small black button slightly below and center on the screen for fifteen seconds. It is easier to feel the black button with your fingertip than to see it unless you look at an angle."
Unfortunately for me, that didn't revive my Touchpad, although I did see the dead battery icon on the screen several times in the past.
It definitely seems that there's life in my device, but I'm pretty sure that the problem is that the battery has lost its connection to the rest of the circuitry. At least that's what I've read about when I searched further. I have seen a description of how to restore this connection, but as I've said, it requires a PC.

Can anyone step up and fix this for me? It will mean extra margaritas at El Torito!
