Sherlock First Look: Three Brits and a Baby?!
....The one thing Sherlock Holmes can’t solve, apparently: the mystery of fatherhood.
With the holiday season officially upon us, PBS and Masterpiece are giving us the gift of new Sherlock photos in advance of Season 4, debuting Sunday, Jan. 1. And the first one, which you can see above, is a real doozy.
Sherlock (Benedict Cumberbatch) looks uncharacteristically befuddled as he stares down at the newborn baby safely cradled in the arms of his crime-solving partner John Watson (Martin Freeman), with Watson’s wife Mary (Amanda Abbington) at his side.
Yes, it seems Watson has become a father since we last saw him, and the press release teases that as Sherlock returns to London in Season 4, John and Mary “prepare for their biggest ever challenge — becoming parents for the first time.” (Does the great Sherlock Holmes know how to change a diaper?)
