What is considered "fast" in this category? I have no clue.

You get what you pay for. The spec most thrown around is the "70MB/sec" or "95MB/sec" which is a read speed. Which is great, but if you're shooting photos in burst mode and RAW, what you should be concerned with is write speed.

This Sony does not have a great write speed, reported at 20-30MB/sec. That's maybe 2 photos written from buffer to the card in a second. If you have a higher resolution camera, even worse.

The Sandisk Extreme Pro, which are the cream of the crop, can handle 90MB/s write speed.

So if your camera spits out 25MB RAW files, and shoots 11 frames a second, that's 275MB of data generated in one second. With the Sony card you're looking at 14 seconds to clear the buffer and write that data to the card. With the Sandisk you're looking at only 3 seconds.

Having said that the Sony card should be fine for general purpose photography and is an incredible value, just don't expect to push it to the limits of a modern camera.
