Fired it up for the second or third time since the 9.x upgrade. It's ridiculous. How many times to I have to decline a Music subscription? Who knows what is a control and what isn't?

That's strange—my Music app hasn't been bugging me. Yeah, I agree that controls should be visually distinct. Jony Ive is an idiot.

Really, all I want is to be able to
  1. play a specific album/playlist/song
  2. turn on/off shuffle
  3. be compatible with my Sony head unit

Albums and songs don't seem to be a problem. Just click the…um…"control," i.e. the list heading, when you're on the "My Music" tab. Theoretically, the "Playlists" "control" at the top of the interface should show you all your playlists but for me, it only shows one, i.e. "Purchased".

As for shuffle mode, you can enable it with the "control" shown in the fullscreen view of the currently playing song.

I don't know anything about your "head unit" (and I don't want to either).
