Perhaps. But I was never able to get that to work changing a Windows formatted iPod to a Mac formatted one. At least back then. Maybe that just "works" now. So after that, I just made it a point to reformat first. Then iTunes would make it an iPod. I guess that's changed. I restored it and it worked fine.
