I wouldn't dismiss Mazda based on your experience. Mazdas are generally very good, reliable vehicles. The Mazda 3 (and its predecessors) have been auto mag favorites a and recommendations for years. Same goes for the 6 series. That's not even taking into consideration my '09 CX-7 which has been trouble-free despite being considered less reliable than Mazda sedans and hatchbacks.
