If you each drive a 2 ~ 3-hour stint, then have a rest/food/fuel break before your partner takes over, it would be possible to drive 12 or more hours each travel day. You'll be able to cover a LOT of miles on the Interstate Highway System this way without killing either of you. A MAJOR factor will be how comfortable the front seats are. I had a 1992 Ford Aerostar van that had Recaro captain's chairs as OEM equipment! Later, we had a 1999 Honda Odyssey (the first year with the sliding doors) where the fronts seats were NOWHERE near as comfortable. If, at the end of the day, you have backaches and soreness from crappy seats, it will NOT be a happy experience. Many car makers skimp on the seats they install. Long distance driving in such seats can be torture.
