Thanks to the internet, I'm seeing lots of stories about the loyalty animals have to the humans who rescue them

My husband's ex-sister-in-law is a person who gets along better with animals, to be specific birds, than people. She had all these birds that she had rescued living in her house like pets. Crazy things like a woodpecker and a crow and maybe some sparrows, I can't remember what all now. I definitely remember that she had a woodpecker because that seemed like a crazy pet to have loose in the house. Meanwhile she was a class-A bitch to people.
