Gaga made a mockery of Bowie's material and what Bowie was and touched on nothing that Bowie was..it was clearly, as usual a Gaga, 'look at me" moment..zero of the elegance he brought. through all the characters and costumes and concept he always brought the song, properly.. It;s about the songs..a lone figure with a great voice with respect for the song would have done it...one or two songs would have done it..instead of trying to cram together everything with a bunch of technical crap they should have kept it simple and rehearsed for the song. It's all they needed to do...respect for the music is getting more and more lost in this deal.
I did enjoy the BB King tribute..not earthshaking but close enough for government work.
I love music and I don't care to meet my heroes..Prince is a dick but I love his work.
John Lennon is a dick too..a conflicted man who made some great music.
Tons of these guys and girls..nasty people and nice people and nice people..Mozart could have been a insufferable ass of a bipolar narcissist..who cares.
the Grammies and most of these shows need to clean the slate..get all the bullshit off the stage and rehearse with an eyeball on creating great musical moments...makes me sick to watch all of this peripheral garbage going on..They came close with the Lionel Ritchie moment but they tried to do way to much..Im not a great Lionel fan..more interested in Commodores..but at least they they just sung it..
that's why, to me the Eagles hit a mark..they got up and did the song..so JB didn't have his chops..who gives a fuck...great song, decent job playing it properly.
I change every day and my underwear is thankful for that.
