RYF! Cheap US-Australia flights

Yeah, we went to Sydney (and Coffs Harbor and the Daintree) on a cheap flight 8 years ago, then to Melbourne last year when the fares dropped. It is a long way to go if you only have a week, but that’s a pretty pathetic reason not to go. I preferred Sydney to Melbourne but they’re both fantastic destinations.

If you go to Melbourne, check out the penguins at sunset in the harbor. Rent a car and drive the Great Ocean Road, spend a couple nights in Kennett River and see wild koalas. Just don’t drive in downtown Melbourne. For the love of God, don’t drive in downtown Melbourne.
