I agree with Steve that "bonfire" is not the best word choice for the caption. If the writer had delved into the meaning of this ritual a bit, and the etymology of that particular word, she likely would have rephrased that. That was a missed opportunity.
I find the photo interesting. I'm glad to live in a country where everyone can practice their faith openly in this manner. I would hope that the subjects all gave their consent to Reuters but since they are in public that isn't required. It's a time of year when we think a lot about religious symbols and rituals, and I think that photos such as this are worthy of notice and reporting.
