Know anything about whole house surge protectors?

Ah, goes between the meter and your panel. Several minutes install time for them, then $10 a month forever. Good deal, for THEM.

For the $100-$300, and whatever the install time or pay to a pro, it's worth it. I still need to get off my arse and do my house. Drinking buddy is an EE for the local utility and will walk me through the install if I supply the beer.
