San Francisco is a playground.
For the one percenters.
No way. For everyone. Most people love "The City." It's why they make the sacrifices. You can't beat San Francisco, Oakland and Berkeley. A deeply satisfying tapestry of activities, beauty and cultures. It's never boring.
Absolutely! We love and appreciate the experience of living here, despite the huge cost. The reason SF area is so expensive is that it is such a great place to exist. If it wasn't so great it'd be vastly cheaper and there wouldn't be so many people coming here on vacation. The recent "what should I do while visiting SF on vacation" thread was an example of just how many great things to experience here. Like Bo, we sometimes play the game of supposing that we could sell our ridiculously expensive modest house and moving somewhere where we'd be able to have extra cash. However, that game never works. All of those other places don't have our friends and family, and don't have the multitude of natural and cultural features there are here. We're willing to make the sacrifice to get the rewards.
