The problem is... you grow up. Living in a hole in the wall, or 7 people sharing a 2BR apt, or having a bunch of random people sleeping on your floor is great when you're in college. After that? I don't care how much stuff there is to do, or how great the culture is. If an "average" house costs north of 1.4M, it's not worth it.
