I found this snippet on another article, on CNN:

" She had become stuck in the "traffic jam" above camp four, which, at 8,000 meters (26,247 feet), is the final camp before the summit."

So the picture is not the summit, but somewhere further down, perhaps at this Camp IV? The summit is at 29035 feet.
