Midwest losing faith in Orange Man and losing the trade war?
#4
There have been more stories of farmers being hurt. I don't consider myself a single-issue voter, so I don't connect well with any of these groups who sway in the wind over whatever personal support they receive or perceive. Migrant children ripped from families? The USDA is being butchered, scientists are sidelined, the president lies every day about even the most trivial things All that and more is OK, but don't limit my subsidized corn production!

I get that they expect government to work "for them," but it remains a mystery to me why blind selfishness rules a voter when say, Trump does all sorts of things harmful and hurtful to others and these farmers are curiously only upset or worried about their personal livelihood. At what point does the sympathy wane, and we say, "Ya know, maybe we don't need so much corn grown in America? Maybe there are other industries and careers worth pursuing?"

Lifting restrictions on E-15, for more ethanol, while making it easier for refineries to produce less ethanol ... welcome to Politics 101, where it's not All About You.
