Erm... not in the US except for certain electrified cities. And then they need a separate locomotive. I don't really think any of the lines are capable of freight.... Always a great idea, but the infrastructure ain't there for freight (yet). Long range freight transport in the US is still tied to primarily diesel fuel.

Still... applause, but the main reality here is that last mile delivery vehicles in urban / suburban areas are PERFECT for all electric. Regenerative braking recovers around 70% of the energy consumed to accelerate to speed. And delivery vehicles do nothing but stop and start all day.

The USPS LLV replacement program only has ONE electric vehicle in the running. Hybrids are possible. Range does not appear to be called out in the spec, which is weird.
