Pedestal sinks are hell - how am I supposed to tighten all those joints?
#7
If the pedestal is skinny, it's a pain but you can usually get a channel lock on the drain nuts..you do not....need a wrench..meaning a pipe wrench..non productive and no feel for wht you're doing

when I put in a ped lav with a skinny pedestal i always buy a nice heavy duty chrome plated brass
drain set up..build as much of it as i can on the bench, then, attach to sink's drain and drop install the sink..the 'real' drain parts last much much longer and then you dont have to mess about later...many years later, still good

Make sure you've put caulk on the top of the pedestal so you get a bond with the sink..
