The whole point is that the economics of this electric charging network is ridiculous. They are deliberately trying to overcharge electric vehicle owners by adding basically a 200% surcharge over the actual cost of the electricity from the electrical grid.

If Tesla declines to also make such surcharges on their supercharger network, will reduce the total cost of ownership per year by up to thousands of dollars.

I wonder whether this is also a political ploy to get the EU to increase subsidies for electrification of their ground transport fleet. After all, the main customers who will pay this extra charge will be truckers etc.

Or it’s a way to keep diesel trucks on the road for longer.
