The numbers he mentions are at least two days old based on the publish date of Feb. 27.
Johns Hopkins numbers for Feb. 28th are: 2,337 South Korea
Iran has 34 deaths listed as of today. Working backwards that implies they should have diagnosed at least 1700 cases but their number is 388. Iran is having the same problem as the rest of the world. Test kits to properly detect positive results are in short supply. The CDC gave 200 kits to California, but they currently have 8,000 possible exposures being monitored.
