If I understand this correctly, the contractor is either enlarging or creating a door opening. They need to build a temporary support structure (shoring) on either side of the wall, cut the opening and install a header (LVL), install the doors and finish the opening.
I expected the materials cost to be significantly higher. Labor seems very reasonable. There's a fair amount of work that needs to be done to make this look nice.
