Our electric range decided that it didn't want to maintain temperature anymore. That sure what is wrong with it. It is burning the food on the top. I suspect something with the lower element, but it is also displaying a random error code that requires the breaker to be turned off to clear or it just shuts off in the middle of cooking. It was here when we bought the house 5 years ago and is likely from 2011, and honestly it is probably the worst range I've ever used. Even when it worked it took forever to heat up to temp and we were constantly cooking food for way longer than it should take.
I couldn't find much of any information on troubleshooting or repairing it. Model number is MER8772WB. But even a temp sensor is $125, which is way more than I am willing to spend.
I'm probably going to switch to gas, just need to find out who to call to get a gas line run and the outlet changed over from 240V to 120V. Doubtful I will purchase another Maytag given how poor this one has performed. I've been a die hard Kenmore person, but with Sears gone not sure what brands are reliably reliable.
