Why pay drivers when Doordash will do it for free? Regardless of the outcome of the initiative (which would have succeeded if they limited it to rideshare and not every type of gig work/contracting).

Think about all the times you went into an Albertsons or a Vons and it was nearly devoid of customers. Pre-pandemic. In SoCal, these Mexican grocery chains (Superior, Northgate, El Super etc., are taking a lot of their business too. They're more focused. We're already seeing large shopping centers half empty. Stores long shut down. OSH shut down. The entire chain.
