i think you need a new SIM since the carrier "company name" is different. (You can ask them, I just assumed I needed one and bought it.) Good question. Find out for us?
Visible is $40; each person you link with drops that $5 down to a minimum of $25. After that, the new wrinkle is that they give you a $5 referral.
I found it easy to switch. They have you download their app, reboot the phone after you swap the SIM. Coming from VZN, you'll need to input your number and Verizon account password into Visible's site for them to port you. I did not need my account PIN. Verizon's site says they have a separate PIN for when people port numbers away from them but I didn't need it either.
So far I haven't noticed any service level changes out here in the boonies.
