They opened a Krispy Kreme here in Little Rock (near a Heart Hospital, of all places) and it was immensely popular and always crowded and it lasted maybe two years. A Dunkin' Donuts down the street from it also went out of business (it's now a Starbucks).
We have a few locally-owned shops that are local chains (not one-offs) that are pretty good for the occasional donut.
Back in New Orleans, nothing beat Tastee for donuts (well, at least after McKenzie's Bakery shut down).
Never did like Krispy Kreme, and Dunkin Donuts are not good, IMO. YMMV.
