"Would I need a new SIM?"
Maybe. Would the new phone's SIM be the same Form Factor as your current phone?
MicroSims have been the standard for years now so, you're probably good on that.
Will Verizon allow you to unlock your phone. If yes, you can probably PORT your old number over to your new phone (there may be an "activation fee"). I've been with Visible for about 18 months. I've been very happy with Visible (I pay $25 / month with Party Pay).
Two possible gotchas: 1:Visible MUST run on Verizon towers. There is NO roaming on the towers of other carriers (usually not a problem). 2: There are NO stores or even the ability to SPEAK with ANY Visible people. ALL communication is via online chat or email.
Finally, Visible offers CASH BACK on some of of the phones they sell (I got $150 rebate even though I bought my iPhone 11 ProMax at an Apple Store.
