What happens when you either:
1: Forget the "Master Password" (the recent BitCoin guy) or
2: Have an entity that decides IT no longer likes / accepts your password (sound familiar Apple)?
Would you be locked out from you ownr data / accounts?
Yes, ideally important information should have a hard copy duplicate that would be stored in a "secure" place BUT, feces occurs and, Mr Murphy LOVES to make surprise appearances.
