Let's talk air (AC/heat) filters ...

When I got a new system this summer, I asked my contractor about electrostatic filters. He said he would sell one to me if I really wanted it. He suggested a 4 inch thick replaceable filter and told me to buy the filters from Amazon, HD or Lowes. Point being, he could have made money selling me the electrostatic and made no money from selling me on just using good replaceable filters. In his opinion, most of the electrostatic filters weren't worth using.
