Yeah, I must have some kind of plugin or extension on Safari on my Mac so the ads don’t load, though I do have to click on a ‘skip ads’ button at the bottom right (not ‘skip ads’ button that YouTube presents after you’ve watched x seconds of the ad) to get the video to start playing
And, sometimes if I click a YouTube link from an email or elsewhere, the page opens up in Safari but the video screen is black/blank and nothing starts playing; again, I think it’s an extension blocking the ad. If this happens, I have to refresh the page to get the video to start playing
On iOS and iPadOS, like you said, I have to wait for the YouTube provided skip ads button
Lastly, we watch a lot of YouTube on our Apple TVs and, AFAIK, there’s no way to block ads on that platform - have to either sit through the ads or wait fro the ‘skip ads’ button to surface after x number of seconds
