I’d read something similar years ago, so I’m not sure this is “news.”
The story is that they had a misunderstanding/disagreement and that John thought Paul wanted to quit or kill the band, and he did it “proactively.”
My point: Does it matter “who” when the reality is that they-all-were-done. Maybe not Ringo necessarily but George knew things were dysfunctional and held back some songs as a result of the vibe.
Most of this “blame game” comes from the emotion of a famous and great band stopping at what could arguably be called their peak: Abbey Road.
