Major retailers (Wally-Target-Costco etc.) say that's just hype and are well stocked.
That was my experience. No shortage of items shopping yesterday night at Target, Best Buy, or Walmart. Nothing out of stock except for a few high demand lego sets and Switch games and the requisite gaming consoles and other insanely high demand items that have been out of stock all year.
