I like Toro for snowthrowers. Even gas ones are light enough to hang on the garage wall. They do a good job. Snow shovels, not so much.
For warm winter folks, a snowblower has a slow moving horizontal auger to gather the snow and and feed a high speed impeller to expel it. A snow thrower only has an auger that turns at high speed which expels the snow through a chute. A snow shovel is a small snow thrower about the size of a number two square nosed shovel.
