I'm not saying which choice you should make - just that the time to think about those choices is not when the armed thug is telling you to hand it over, it's well ahead of that.
Don't carry a weapon at all if you haven't determined clearly in your mind what, TO YOU, constitutes an "imminent threat to your life or threat of serious bodily injury".
And yes, the SFPD are fecking useless. They haven't cared about property crimes of any kind for decades, and, thanks to that mentality, are reaping what they've sown.
