You'll Soon Be Able to 'Buy With Prime' on Websites That Aren't Amazon

This seems merely like going to the vendor's own website and using Amazon Prime there, instead of at Amazon's store front.

I've seen a few sites over the last several weeks, maybe more, that have a Buy with Amazon button.

I don't know if it had anything to do with handling shipping or just Amazon handling the money, inducing a sense of security in a prospective customer.
