Regarding the desire to shut the Mac Mini with a keystroke - Keyboard Maestro to the rescue!
Remote control of this Mac is accomplished with a FLIRC IR USB device that takes a remote control IR signal and outputs a keystroke.
Keyboard Maestro has a "Shutdown" task that does not bring up the confirmation dialog box or require a SUDO command, and can be triggered by a keystroke.
I miss OneClick for OS9, but Keyboard Maestro has proven to be a useful alternative for OSX.
So - I can use JRiver in Catalina rather than in Windows, to avoid the compatibility problem that produces the green tint.
