I don't think a KVM is going to work if you're using a 2013 iMac for the display as that requires a thunderbolt cable for the connection?
Some monitors will have multiple (video) inputs you can switch between, but they won't switch the USB connection. Also, sometimes it doesn't work as desired (i.e. one monitor we have seems determined to display whatever is on the HDMI input if that's plugged in, so to get back to the DisplayPort input, we have to disconnect the HDMI cable).
