Use the wireless sniffer software to map the signal dropoff.

Play around with alternate placement locations.

Also use the wireless sniffer software to check for other signals that might interfere.

Are you using 2.4 or 5GHz?

5GHz Is less crowded, is theoretically faster, but the signal won’t travel quite as far.

Some routers will allow you to set signal strength.
