If the physical store is closing out an item, but it's still available at the regular price online, will the store adjust the price of the purchased online item, if the receipt is displayed at the CS desk?

you can always buy in store at lower price and return the online one, right there in store.
Yes, but I want to keep it. I only want them to adjust the price to the lower price, not to accept the return. (I have not bought the item online yet, I'm just hoping that they would do so. But, yes, I'd be out nothing, as Costco allows returns on nearly everything.)
what I meant is: buy it in store, walk out, walk right back in on the other side and return with the same item and use the online receipt to return it.

The one you bought online and it at home never leaves the home. (OK, I understand you didn't buy it yet, but I was just explaining how this would work in a normal scenario if they refuse the price match)
In fact I think this is simpler, cleaner and faster than a price match.
