Everything is word count.
I've noticed in a number of articles over the last few years, and even more so in the last year, an article will have a headline, but the lede is then 'buried' far down in the article.
It's teased in the headline, but then you have to wait through a lot of 'set up' before.
I've only recently started looking at 'how-to' cooking articles and found a similar thing.
I've also seen that in a lot of forums as well, so there's that.
And that's nothing compared to someone, say— stopped for a traffic violation.
Ask for an explanation, and one is likely to get 'When my grandparents first came to this country...'
'Line 20, press hard, three copies'.
