Your thoughts on specific Gun Control measures

If I had my wishes, I would do two things:

1) Expand the National Firearms Act, which has survived full SCOTUS review and has been reaffirmed on a number of cases.

2) For any weapon not considered covered by a revised NFA, then we specify what a 'well-regulated militia' means, using the definition of 'regulated':

Reg-u-late: control or supervise (something, especially a company or business activity) by means of rules and regulations.
"the organization that regulates fishing in the region"

To have weapons under 2A, you will: 1) register 2) insure 3) regulate the custody of your firearm(s).

That's it. A simple platform.

So edit the Constitution to include only the words that fit your agenda?
If that's what you want to do, go for it.

The main goal of my options are to live within current definition and interpretation of the Constitution, and laws that have passed SCOTUS review.

I note that in most surveys, the average card-carrying NRA member supports gun licensing etc.

Here's an article that talks about how the NRA once supported the NFA to its views now (this BBC journalism is entirely consistent with the NPR article I've recently reposted).

Please do not tell me I do not know NRA members. I have a number of friends and family who are gun-owners. The one unanimous view from them is that these killings are horrible - and preventable.
