A difficult journey continues. Sending up a flare.
#1
Unfortunately, the last few months have brought with them many valleys and few steps forward.

In short, moving into the group housing came with the unexpected extra $400 deposit. And added to that, conditions have been (far) less than ideal, verging in the untenable; including dubious treatment of vulnerable residents. Meaning yet another move may be in the near future.

While on the health front, new hurdles have arisen in the form of the prognosis for what was thought to be a treatable condition called ‘Depuytren’s Contracture’, in fact turned out to be a condition called, “claw hand”. Which the neurologist has told me, as it stands, has no prospect for reversal in my effected dominant hand.

While my other hand is worsening and, unless a treatment regimen is found, will degrade to the same condition.

This will mean irreversible curling towards the palm of the little and ring finger, and significant muscle atrophy and attendant loss of strength and utility.

Physical therapists will be assisting me in learning to write with this challenge, and I will be joining the ranks of the two two finger typists.

Along with that, I have of late begun experiencing severe anxiety attacks which have left me all but housebound. Fortunately, I have been assigned an excellent therapist who specializes in anxiety disorders, as well as joining group therapy sessions.

The result is that I am forced into sending up a flare and hoping I have not exhausted the unbelievable compassion and generosity shown by this community.

My aim is the following.
  • Retire two payday loans that I have been cycling to keep monthly bills paid
  • Keeping my car insurance going
  • Paying my car registration (Both of the last two in the hopes of, sooner rather than later, returning to delivery driving to supplement my income)
  • And preparing for the expense of relocating, as now seems inevitable.

The goal is $1,500, in hopes of achieving the above.

First, my continued thanks and gratitude for all the kindness you have shown.

My journey back continues. Thank you for whatever assistance you may be able to extend in making it past these latest hurdles and continuing to move forward.

Eternally grateful-
Jeff
