How is this in any way a "hero" story?
So nobody in this story can shoot well ,apparently.
She was shot at and she didn't deter or injure the criminals, who also got away with her valuables and have not been apprehended.
They are obviously prepared to do battle with an armed homeowner and have no fear of that.
The only positive is that she wasn't killed after she escalated the home invasion to gun violence aimed at herself. This is one example of why you hear that having a gun at home makes you more likely to get shot, not less.
"The men fired back - about 17 to 20 shots - before leaving with valuables, including jewelry.
"We went over afterwards and we saw gunshots all in the walls," Walker said."
They DID take her jewelry and other stuff.
And tried to kill her. And got away, uninjured.
Not seeing how the gun helped here. She was outgunned and putnumbered. They could have killed or assaulted her but chose to leave AFTER robbing her and shooting up her place. Which they did after she fired, not before.
This is more about the risk of living alone without a good security alarm system than about any benefit of everybody having guns.
The point is they didn't kill, beat or rape the woman thanks to her having a gun to protect herself.
When seconds count, police are just minutes away
