Several years ago (pre-pandemic) when/where our nephew* became an A-10 Crew Chief at Davis-Monthan AFB, a good sized chunk of the family went to Tucson to celebrate w/ him. While we were there, we took a family group caravan to Saguaro National Park, on what turned out to be Cesar Chavez Day (end of March) weekend. In AZ, they took it seriously enough to add that to the freebie list, but since we were a day off from the actual "holiday", some of the family was gonna get stuck paying. I had/have a lifetime good for one car, then I noticed they had a sign for a year's free pass for active military going on the whole weekend at the time, so I grabbed the nephew and got him signed up for his freebie that was then good for another car. We then consolidated 4 cars into 2 for the park excursion.
So, in addition to pRON's PSA, check out your desired Nat'l Parks for add'l freebie holidays that they may make available...... though I'm guessing most of the MRF crowd qualifies for the geezer card, or is likely to go to the park(s) w/ someone who does.

*of course this is the very same nephew whose last August wedding turned into a super-spreader Covid event.......
