The confusion is because Thunderbolt 3 and 4 the protocols use USB-C the physical port. The Sabrent box is a true Thunderbolt enclosure even if the Thunderbolt cable used to connect has USB-C on the ends. That's why it isn't compatible with USB even if the USB protocol is using USB-C the port.
I thought the B&H price was $99 after the $20.00 discount. I still wouldn't buy the box because of the notched cable/port nonsense. I'd get another OWC Envoy Express which offers the same speed, rock solid reliability and does it without nonsense.
