On our flight last Sunday, one flight attendant was masked & gloved.

I have two reactions when I see someone masked at this point
(1) they are sick themselves - thank you for trying to prevent the spread of germs
(2) they have a condition that causes them to fear getting sick - in which case I feel guilty for not taking protective measures myself - and I want to apologize that they have to live in a society that won't collectively take these measures to protect them

My wife masked up after seemingly the entire waiting area at the airport was coughing. She is the only one in the family that hasn't had the pleasure of C-19 yet.

And may covid not adversely affect her more than a cold or flu bout should she eventually get it. We have a family member who had a cough for a couple weeks at the start of the pandemic BEFORE everything shut down; and who hasn't tested positive for covid at any point. Our thinking now is that this family member is just one of the lucky ones - 2 out of 5 or so? - who is just asymptomatic and essentially unaffected by contracting the virus.
