In 2023, about 121 people in the US died every day from gun violence, homicide plus suicide. There's no timeline in the OP, but it was a series of attacks beginning about 1:00. Let's say an hour. In that same hour, on average 5 people likely died somehere in the country from a gun, so he's behind by one already. But not just that hour and ended. Every hour of every day. In the 24 hours since the attack and OP's post, some 120 people likely died by gunshot ( and not all of them in Chicago, I might add.) The attacker in the OP is a rookie, by the way. If he were properly armed like the Las Vegas shooter, he could have taken out the majority of one day's gunshot tally in ten minutes. I also wonder, if OP's attacker had a gun, how many of those who did not die would have died? How many additional people would he have taken out, considering a gun would have allowed him to work from a distance?
